It's been a good week for Maximo. He's been eating well (and I'm almost not pumping anymore - woo-hoo). He's staying awake a little more which is nice. This morning after his 9:00 am feeding he was wide-eyed for almost an hour and this afternoon he had some gas and was letting everyone in the house know about it, so it's almost like we have a real baby in the house.
We just returned from the doctor's office and Maximo weighs 2250 grams (4 lbs. 15 oz.). This was before he pooped all over the scale but after he spit up on the exam table. I'm sure Dr. Llanos is happy we're not returning to his office, yikes! The doctor said he was doing well, so there was no need to see him again before Dr. Zegarra returns and we see him on Friday.
I'm very excited Maximo gained so much - 160 grams in 4 days (granted a few grams of that was definitely poo)! Hopefully we'll maintain that gain and keep getting bigger. Looking at him now, I can't imagine having something so big inside of me - and he's not even 5 lbs. My sister in law just had a seven pound baby and she looked huge in the pictures compared to Maximo. Hopefully by the time they meet next summer, he'll really look like the older cousin.
So, all is well in Lemleyland. We have many appointments coming up the week after next, so hopefully everything will check out with his physical therapy, eyes, and brain (those are pretty important things). Then, hopefully, hopefully, we can show off this gorgeous baby to people. It's been so hard, one staying in all the time, and two, not being able to show people our baby - it's like we have an imaginary, invisible baby. Our neighbors have noticed that I'm not pregnant anymore, but have yet to see a baby, and I think they are afraid to ask!
This weekend is a holiday weekend in Peru, so John has a four-day weekend; it'll be nice to hang out with the boys all weekend!

what wonderful, happy news (and some laughs, as well!). I really miss the updates; it's the first thing I check each day. Love to all of you, Gigi
