11 Months Old Today!

Today, Maximo is 11 months old and the whole country decided to celebrate. Actually, it's just 28 de Julio - Peruvian Independence Day. We are seriously not looking forward to going back to work, mostly because we've really, really enjoyed hanging out with Maximo this past month.
He is pulling himself up all over the place and getting more and more stable by the day. It's impressive how much he learns and changes daily. It's a lot of fun just watching him play with his toys and use us as jungle gyms to climb all over.
He's getting better using his pincer grasp to feed himself. Nothing's more motivating than food. He's been practicing on his favorite food - Cheerios.
Lastly, Maximo decided about four nights ago, not to take his middle of the night bottle... So, we're almost sleeping through the night, from about 7:00 pm to 6:30 or so. I say almost because he still wakes up fussing in the middle of the night, but we just pop in his pacifier and stroke his head a bit, and he goes back to sleep.
So, needless to say, things are going great! Now, we just need to get him to stop biting... it's becoming a bit of a problem. But, he's sleeping through the night, so one thing at a time. We can deal with a few battle wounds for a full night sleep. Parenting is about sacrifice, right?

I miss you, Maximo! No one's been sucking on my necklace or slobbering on my shoulder for a few weeks now... Happy 11 months!
