The stars just aligned tonight - we perfectly timed Max's dinner, bath, playtime and reading. He fell asleep at about 6:05 pm without so much as a whimper. Usually he'll cry out a little bit to tell us how unhappy he is that we're leaving him alone to fall asleep in his crib. Sleep has gotten better (this probably means he'll be up twenty times tonight). He's consistently sleeping from 6 pm to about 4 am - then he has a little milk and falls back asleep for another hour and a half to two hours. Not bad - it'll just be nice when we sleep all the way through until 6ish. I am not complaining though - I clearly remember the day (oh, about 5 months worth of days) of feeding him every 3 hours - even an hour and a half at the beginning because he'd tire himself out just from feeding.
On Wednesday we went to the physical therapy clinic and spoke to the head physician regarding Maximo's assessment and progress. He is pleased with Max's development. He says developmentally he's about 6 - 6 1/2 months. The area he is most concerned with is the area where your leg attaches to your foot (like the opposite side of your Achilles' tendon). It is tight, though a bit better than last time. He said Maximo may need corrective shoes when he gets closer to walking. He recommends that we stick with the three-times-a-week therapy for now. Our only concern is that we will be traveling for three weeks in July, so we'll have to keep up with his therapy ourselves, which may be a bit difficult since we'll be carting him all over the East Coast to show him off to family and friends.
Yesterday, we had Max's 9 month check-up with his pediatrician. Dr Zegarra was equally pleased. Max's weight is slowing up a bit, but he seemed to stretch out a lot more this month. He weighs 8590 grams - 18 lbs. 14 oz. (only 200 grams more than last month), and is 69 cm (27.2 in) long.
I'm glad I'm more relaxed about the numbers now, since they weren't the best.
But, again, Maximo is a healthy, happy little boy, so we'll just go with that.

I stole the shelf idea from you! I love it! I just need to go into html and widen that column so the bookshelf has more than one book per shelf. Did you have to do anything special for yours to do that?
