Just a quick doctor's appointment update: Maximo now weighs 8390 grams (18 1/2 lbs) and is 66.5 cm (26.2 inches) long. His weight is now in the 30% for his actual age and his length and head circumference are both at 10%. Dr. Zegarra was happy (again) with his gain and says to keep doing what we're doing.
While we were there, we also discussed his sleeping issues and he said that we need to be putting him to bed awake, so he doesn't depend on us for sleep. We used to do this when he was younger, but then he just started falling asleep while he was drinking his milk. We attempted to do this tonight and he screamed bloody murder, so we'll keep on it... Hopefully it'll get better!

I am sure I have said this before, but seriously do it. We let Tess fall asleep in our arms for so long. Then finally she won't. It took us an hour every night for months to get her to sleep, and then she would wake up for about 3 hours every night. Fun! Finally, we made a pact. I gave her milk early - right after bath. Then let her play. Then I held her for 5 minutes in her room. I put her in her bed and told her "good night and love you." Then we let her cry it out for 2 nights. Now she goes to bed with no fuss and sleeps through the night. She only started this when she was 16 months old. Don't wait that long. It is too long. With Riley we did it starting from 2.5 months. She has slept through the night ever since! Good luck and good sleep!
