Max seems to be getting stronger and stronger. He still needs an "oxygen hood" to help him with his O2 levels, but he is still off a respirator, so we're happy. He's been eating, he is now eating 8 ccs of milk every 3 hours. Hopefully he'll start growing like a weed soon. We just spoke with the doctor, he still seems optimistic. First he needs to be able to breath regular air unassisted. He still has a drain tube in his chest also, so that needs to come out. Doctor thinks we may be able to hold him in the next few days... I can't wait.
7:00 pm - We went back up to the hospital late this afternoon and his chest tube was out! As excited as we are, we're nervous that he may get another pneumothorax and we'll get a horrific phone call in the middle of the night. It was horrible this first time, but we were down the hall, and could arrive within a minute. Now, we are twenty minutes at least to the hospital, so I hope all goes well tonight. We're happy Maximo is getting stronger, but anxious about being too optimistic. John starts working again tomorrow, so we're going to go to the hospital early before school, then I'll drop John off. I can't even imagine thinking about work right now.
