It seems like we take a step or two forward, then always take one back. I knew Maximo didn't eat well yesterday... he didn't gain any weight yesterday... The problem he's having is with the feedings given by the nurses. They've moved him off of the gavage feedings and are now giving him feedings either through a syringe (with no needle) or a cup. It is awful to watch these feedings. He looks so miserable; he just squirms, spits up, and gags. Dr. Zegarra wanted to move him off of the gavage feedings, because he'll stop sucking like he is, because it'd be much easier to get food poured down his throat. So, we're going to try to do another feeding with me today bringing it to three and see how his weight does with that. If that works, then I'll feed him 4 times a day, and if that works, I'm going to try to get a room here at the hospital to try to do around the clock feedings for a few days and nights. We're not sure what the hospital would charge for a room and tomorrow we're going to contact TieCare. Oh, and to add more pressure, our doctor is going to a workshop in Spain on the 27th. I hope he's home and settled by then.

It sounds like everything is improving overall though, Jule~ Can't wait to see more pics of him as he gets bigger, stronger and healthier!
Love,
Lindsey and Mike
