I walked into the hospital today and one of the nurses was walking out and said, "There's a surprise for you upstairs!" Well, I knew his bags weren't going to be packed and ready, but I figured another step towards coming home... Max was in a crib (and clothes)! Goodbye incubator! This is a big step, but there is a downside: Now Maximo needs to regulate his own temperature (as we all do), but this means he's expending more energy and burning more precious calories. He was also very tired today, so his feedings were mediocre, but this afternoon was much better than this morning. So, this is stressful because he probably won't be gaining weight for tomorrow. Dr. Zegarra says that he's doing okay (but not gaining as much weight as he would like) and we'll see what happens in the next few days...

Wow! Another big step! In a crib and with clothing on!!! Your little guy is moving right along! I know how hard it is for you right now, but Maximo seems to be progressing very well. Both of you deserve an award for your patience with your little man! You are in my heart and prayers daily! He will be home soon! Love you both, Aunt Linda
