Hopefully NOT eating crow

We've just returned from the fourth night eating out at a restaurant for dinner with Maximo. He's been great. Every night as we walk into the restaurant, sometimes as late as 7:00 pm, I'm thinking, this is going to be a nightmare, but he's been wonderful. He's always pretty good when we're in a situation with other people around. He loves to flirt with any female within a 20 foot radius of where we are sitting. He's also has had his sampling of southern food since we've been here: mac and cheese, cornbread, sweet potato mash, and banana pudding, to name a few.
Tonight, Maximo got to meet his cousin, Jillian. Unfortunately, the battery was dead in my camera. Jillian is a spunky, adorable, bright eight year old. Maximo loved watching her, listened to her read him books, and to seal the deal, she gave him some licks of her lollipop(s) and wheeled him around the restaurant. She also sat next to him in the back of the car, which kept Maximo happy at 8:45 tonight, as we left the restaurant.
So, our trip is winding down. We have more quality family time ahead of us and our "break the bank" Target spree where we buy a bunch of stuff we can't get in Peru (mostly things we can live without). Every afternoon, we've been taking a dip in the hotel pool. Max LOVES the pool. He has a little floatie which he likes to kick around in, but he likes even more for me to pull him around while he's on his stomach. We've also been dunking him underwater. Sometimes he fusses a bit, but he doesn't seem to hate it. We're thinking we're going to try to start swim "classes" when we get back to Peru.

not to mention that if you're at the restaurant that means you didn't have to cook!
