As predicted, it's been an insanely busy week. Max is fighting a second cold... we think he may have gotten it at one of the parties of last weekend. He got a ridiculously runny nose, which is now better, but he's got a bit of a dry hack right now.
Physically, he's still working on the crawling thing. He's attempting many different ways of crawling - he's getting up on his toes and scootching his way forwards, he's pretty good at the worm, and once he hits the wood floor, he's all about moving backwards. The therapist and we are working on helping Maximo to crawl by manipulating his legs to simulate how crawling should be - one leg forward, then the other. He has his last therapist visit tomorrow with Ines for three weeks, though we've set up an assessment and visit with a pediatric physical therapist in the states - we're excited and nervous to get a second opinion (and in English!). It'll also be nice that he'll have a couple of therapy sessions while we're gone.
He's also just recently learned how to close his mouth and keep it tightly closed when he doesn't want anymore food or more commonly - he doesn't want his iron supplement (don't blame him though, it smells like rust)!
Tonight, Maximo had his tenth month doctor's check-up - he now weighs 8.86 kg (19 lbs and 8 oz.) and is 71 cm (28 inches) long. Both of which are in the 25% for a 10 month old - that's the highest he's ever been! He jumped 10% in his length - his weight is slowly creeping up.
Lastly, Maximo has changed (maybe?) his sleeping schedule. He's sleeping a bit better during the day, and the past two nights he's stayed awake until 7:00. (It's been 6:00 for the past 6 months or so.) We'll see if he maintains this schedule with us traveling for the next three weeks.
We leave for the U.S. on Saturday - Maximo's first trip to the United States. He gets to meet a lot of friends and family who have heard endless stories about the little warrior. We can't wait! Hopefully he'll (we'll) survive our long traveling days.
