Comparing Max's sleep to what it was two months ago, it's great. Consistent? Not really, but if I were checking a questionnaire about him sleeping well - I'd check often, which is much better than sometimes, rarely or never.
Friday night was a dream. Last night, well... he woke up hacking and screaming at about 9 pm. He was very phlegmy and couldn't work it either down or up and it was scaring him because he couldn't breathe easily; he was even a little bluish around his mouth, signalling that he maybe wasn't getting enough oxygen. This is probably what woke him up. Not just scaring him, mind you. Seeing him turn blue a couple of times in the NICU has scarred us for life. So, we jumped into action...
"Do you want to take turns sleeping with him?" John asked.
We put Vick's Vapor Rub on his feet. (Yes, feet)
We put two towels under his mattress to prop his upper body up a little bit.
He slept soundly in his bed for another 30 minutes, then started screaming again. So, I put him next to me in bed. He slept okay, but woke up every hour to hour and a half, so I just repositioned him and rocked him back to sleep.
After his bottle at 3:30, he slept in his crib by himself for the next 2 1/2 hours. He seems to be pretty happy now, not snotty or otherwise looking sick, just has some mucus in the back of his throat that he's not sure what to do with.
So, maybe this is his first real cold. He had a little something in Argentina, but it never really amounted to anything but fussiness. I'm going to go pump him full of nutrient and antibody rich b-milk right now to knock this consumption out of his body.
