Max is tube free! We went in this morning before John went off to work, and he didn't have the tube in his mouth nor the tube & stent in his umbilical. So, a poco a poco. He looks good and is starting to fill out his wrinkles. I'm sitting at the hospital awaiting the 9:00 feeding. I haven't had any complaints about my or Maximo's health care - it's been amazing, but last night I had a run in with one of the nurses. I decided after sitting on the couch for more than 30 minutes last night, that I was going to return for his 9:00 pm feeding. I left the house and was stuck in horrific traffic, but made it to the NICU at 8:50. The nurse was already feeding him! They are supposed to feed him on the hour, so if I'm there early I can try to nurse first. She claimed he was "muerte de hambre" (dying of hunger) - not the most technical term for a nurse, and come on! I was very angry and upset... So, I've finally found a nurse I haven't liked and hopefully she'll be gone when I go back in a few minutes. We took some pictures this morning, so if I have a few minutes at some point today, I'll upload them so you can all meet the handsome little guy.
