The good news is that it doesn't look like Max has an infection of the brain... The doctor said it could just be superficial bleeding because the glucose level was low in the draw. Really this is a little foreign to me, so I apologize for the vague information. I'm going in to feed Maximo about 4 - 5 times a day. He's doing okay and latching on, but he's having a bit of a problem sucking, swallowing, and breathing at the same time. The doctor said this is normal and to be patient. Babies usually get their sucking coordination at 34 weeks - So we have a couple of weeks before he should have been able to do this. He's gaining weight and is finally over his birth weight. As of yesterday morning, he was 1790 g. And of course, he's still handsome and still being strong...

Jules and John, Your little peanut is absolutely precious! Maximo is adorable! I know what a treat it is to be finally able to hold him in your arms. I know you have weathered a couple of hiccups and will probably have a couple more, but I know in my heart that I will be able to "snuggle" my 1st great-nephew and he will grow up to be a strong young man. The two of you are such strong examples of strength and, of course, devoted parents! I know you are anxious to have him come home where you can dote on him all day long! LOL Know you are in my heart and prayers. Please give Maximo a gentle hug and a soft kiss for me. I love you all, Aunt Linda
